It was time to see if the motor was going to fire up. I cleaned up the plugs and reset the timing and set the points and then went for it. After only a short while the motor started to catch and the thing fired up. It was another month or so before it was actually able to turn a wheel under it own power as I had to wait for some seals the front break cylinder to arrive and the finishing touches to be completed. Unfortunately I had “..slightly..” gone over budget and so instead of having the side panels and tailpiece professionally finished as I had planned, I had to resort to a tin of Halfords cellulous gloss black and do them myself.
